Rosehall Press Announces The Honey Bee Chronicles: Burnett Coburn’s Sweet Ode to Devotion and Divine Masculinity

TORONTO, ON – November 14, 2025 – Rosehall Press is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of The Honey Bee Chronicles, the second poetry collection from veteran dramatist and author Burnett Coburn.

Slated for release on the 6th of December, 2025 , The Honey Bee Chronicles is a striking hybrid of visual poetry and romantic narrative. This book is an act of jubilee and devotion, documenting the author’s ecstatic wonder at his muses, both spiritual and romantic. The collection is a sincere exploration of black beauty and authentic romance, presented through the lens of positive divine masculinity.

The narrative is brought to life through 17 poems and 21 pages of immersive photography modelled by the muse of the poetry, Honica Brown. The visuals frame the unconventional, “honeyed” private moments of the beloved, inspired by the sacred guidance of the honeybee.

About the Author
Burnett Coburn is a Jamaican-born dramatist, author, and a veteran of the New York Caribbean poetry scene. His creative path saw him graduate from the Jamaica School of Drama at the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts, where he received the prestigious Greta Fowler Memorial Scholarship. Coburn’s work is an ode to black women, celebrating them as African Queens deserving of their own Neruda. He is also the author of the collection Sorbet & Sweet Potato Pudding (2016).

An Artistic Reckoning
The Days of Plenty is a magical carnival captured in an artistic journal. It documents Ryan O'Neil's decision to abandon the analytical path of his University of Waterloo Statistics degree for creative fulfillment. Driven by an intense need to feed the soul, the collection emphasizes key themes of personal transformation, Caribbean heritage, the migrant experience, and millennial romance. The narrative is brought to life through 61 poems accompanied by 61 pages of immersive, provocative photography. The visual style is framed by a dark, twisted masquerade, a metaphor for rebellion and catharsis deeply inspired by O'Neil's Jamaican heritage.

About the Author
Ryan O'Neil is a Jamaican-born, Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist. His transformative career path saw him pivot from the analytical world of a Statistics degree (University of Waterloo) to a celebrated pursuit of art. O'Neil's work, which spans poetry, photography, film, and performance, has been featured internationally and through collaborations with the Toronto Public Library and the Toronto Arts Council. He is also the author of the collection Ritual and Ruin (2020).
